Donated pistols accepted for on-duty use (Commissioners Court, Oct. 2024).
On Oct. 29, 2024, Harris County Commissioners Court approved Precinct 5's request to accept donated Glock 22 and 23 .40 pistols from U.S. Probation for on-duty use. The record does not say whether these became the primary issue weapon, so the role is OTHER. A later item (File 25-3948, June 2025) approved trading in county property involving Glock pistols for Precinct 5 toward long rifles, so the current status is not re-verified.
