Content & officer-safety policy
Officer safety comes first. When in doubt, leave it out.
Allowed
- Agency-level issued or authorized equipment: firearm models, calibers, duty ammunition, optics, lights, slings and similar accessories.
- Dates of adoption and replacement, with a public source.
- Specialized-unit equipment only where the agency itself has published it (press release, AB 481 report, council minutes, policy manual).
Not allowed
- Anything about individual officers: names, faces, badge numbers, home information, or "Officer X carries Y."
- Tactical-team inferences from operational photos; unit sizes; armory or storage locations; round counts or inventory quantities; vehicle-rack details.
- Serial numbers (we strip them from any ingested documents).
- Photos taken at active scenes, or showing faces, name tapes, plates, or unit numbers.
- Non-public information obtained through employment.
Photos
Prefer your own photos of civilian-equivalent firearms or manufacturer/agency press images you have rights to. All photos are reviewed before publishing. Uploaders must affirm they own or have rights to the image.
