Affiliate disclosure
Some pages on Duty Arms Index include “Civilian equivalent” links to retailers such as Brownells and Primary Arms. Some of these may be affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are labelled “Sponsored links” and marked rel="sponsored nofollow" for search engines.
What affiliate links never change
- Which agencies, models, optics or lights we list, or the order they appear in.
- Confidence ratings. These follow the methodology: only sourced documents can make an entry “Official”.
- Corrections. A retailer relationship is never a reason to keep or remove an entry.
Law-enforcement-only models
Many issued items are sold only to agencies: select-fire rifles and SMGs, contract variants (for example the SIG M17 or the Aimpoint COA), or police-trade models. When that's the case, we link the closest civilian version and say so on the page. Civilian versions differ from the issued item (for example semi-automatic only, different sights or finish).
Buying firearms
Firearms purchased online ship to a federally licensed dealer (FFL), who runs the required background check. Federal, state and local laws vary; some items or magazine capacities can't be sold where you live. Check your local law before buying.
