The Journal (Martinsburg) reported in May 2024 that the sheriff announced the department's move from the 9mm Glock 19 (issued since 2019, after the .45 Glock 21 from 2006) to the Shadow Systems XR920 9mm with red dot and light, funded by a local donor grant.
