Per the manual as last updated May 2, 2023 (section revised May 2, 2020). Current status not re-verified.

MPD Policy & Procedure Manual 5-409 names the Remington Model 870 as the authorized MPD shotgun; sworn personnel who are not certified rifle operators qualify with it annually. The manual names no duty handgun or rifle model (duty handguns are department-owned 9mm pistols authorized by the Chief).
