Purchase disclosed to commissioners in Nov. 2023 (per Jan. 18, 2024 report); not re-verified.

The Nebraska Examiner reported that the Racing and Gaming Commission bought SIG Sauer MPX short-barrel semi-automatic 9mm carbines for its sworn plainclothes investigators (enforcement division), intended as a last resort for active-shooter incidents at casinos or racetracks. Commissioners questioned the purchase but accepted the explanation. The investigators' handguns aren't named.
